The article discusses the main aspects of managing the condition of road pavements, as a key factor influencing the safety of traffic on roads, and notes the importance of studying the performance and predicting the service life of road structures. The article shows the need to conduct research to quantify the intensity of changes in transport and operational indicators and factors affecting the condition of road structures, traffic safety, and analyzes the main groups of methods and systems used to manage the condition of road pavements. Currently, there is a need for research aimed at assessing the performance of road structures in order to effectively evaluate design decisions, construction quality and ongoing activities to improve traffic safety as part of the maintenance and repair of roads.
