The article discusses complex risks and challenges that need to be taken into account to maintain a difficult balance of the construction industry’s functioning and ensure its financial sustainability at the present time. As one of the countermeasures, it is proposed to implement a strategic national project for mass wooden house-building. To provide scientific and technological support for the project, it is suggested to create a Competence Center in the field of industrial and composite house-building. The Center of Competencies under consideration will provide support for the project at all stages of implementation, providing fundamental scientific, human resource, and technological support for the development of wooden house-building technology.
