The NaGdF4:Ce, Eu, Tb/carbon dots hydrophilic nanocomposite inks with small size, good water solubility, monodispersity, dual mode luminescence and white light (CIE = 0.32, 0.32) emission properties were prepared by simple wet chemical method.
