Acoustic Performance and Lifecycle Assessment of Common Building Materials: A Comparative Case Analysis

Motivated by the Hong Kong Climate Action Plan 2050, a lifecycle case analysis assessment of various typical construction materials often proposed for acoustic purposes has been performed. The findings have been analysed and a metric has been explored which assesses a material's combined value based on its sound insulation ability and carbon emissions produced by its use in a project.
