Abstract: Under the dual background of the in-depth development of digital cultural tourism and the iterative upgrading of youth consumption, urban music-themed performances, as a core business format that activates urban nighttime economy, shapes urban cultural IP and undertakes youth cultural tourism consumption, have ushered in new development opportunities and transformation challenges. As an original Internet consumer group, Generation Z has reconstructed the consumption logic of the cultural tourism performance market with the consumption characteristics of personalization, immersion, socialization, value and emotionalization, completely breaking the development shackles of traditional performance industry such as one-way viewing, solidified scenes and homogeneous content. At present, urban music-themed performance scenes in China generally suffer from serious scene homogenization, single spatial function, shallow interactive experience, insufficient integration of digital technology, and lack of local cultural connotation, which are difficult to adapt to the diverse and high-quality consumption demands of Generation Z. Based on scene theory, experience economy theory and cultural space theory, combined with the existing research results of cultural tourism performance, digital industry and youth consumption, this paper systematically analyzes the core consumption trends of Generation Z and the core demands of performance scenes, sorts out the practical dilemmas of current urban music performance scene design. Combined with the innovative practical experience of three benchmark music performance cases in China, this paper constructs a systematic design system of urban music-themed performance scenes adapted to Generation Z’s consumption trends from four dimensions of spatial reconstruction, technological empowerment, content narration and social construction, and puts forward targeted and implementable scene optimization strategies. The research aims to enrich the theoretical system of performance scene design under the background of digital cultural tourism, solve the problem of homogeneous development of the industry, and provide theoretical support and practical reference for the innovation of urban music performance formats, the upgrading of cultural tourism industry and the activation of youth consumption market, so as to help the in-depth integration of urban cultural resources and cultural tourism business.
