Abstract

A visible-light-promoted palladium-catalyzed aminocarbonylation of aryl and alkenyl iodides with nitroarenes using Mo(CO)6 as the CO source has been developed. This newly developed reductive aminocarbonylation reaction operates efficiently at ambient temperature (25 °C) in the absence of an external photocatalyst. Both aryl and alkenyl iodides were suitable substrates, providing access to a wide range of substituted amides in good to excellent yields. The exceptionally mild reaction conditions significantly improve functional group compatibility, thereby expanding the substrate scope of this transformation.
