Visible-light-induced iron-catalyzed atom transfer radical addition of chloroform to alkenes
Ning Yan, Ming Bao, Xiaoqiang YuA visible-light-mediated iron-catalyzed atom transfer radical addition (ATRA) of chloroform to alkenes has been developed. This transformation provides atom-economical access to synthetically 1,3,3-trichloroalkanes under mild reaction conditions.
