Chun-Han Shih, Chien-Wei Huang, Ting-Shou Chang

Abstract

Post-intubation tracheal laceration (PITL) is rare but can be life-threatening. In this report, we present a case of significant subcutaneous emphysema after elective intubation, highlighting the importance of early recognition, and treatment options in such cases. We also emphasize the use of tracheostomy as an endoscopic route to provide better visibility and more room to operate.
