Uniportal robotic sleeve tracheal and carinal resection with bronchial flap reconstruction
Chang Li, Tianren Jin, Diego Gonzalez-Rivas, Jun ZhaoAbstract
Carinal reconstruction remains technically challenging because of complex airway management and anastomotic tension. A 42-year-old man with adenoid cystic carcinoma extending from the distal trachea to the right main bronchus underwent uniportal robotic-assisted right upper lobectomy and sleeve tracheocarinal resection with pedicled right upper lobe bronchial flap reconstruction under veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support. This case suggests that this approach may be technically feasible for selected eccentric, complex tracheocarinal tumors.
