This chapter honors the lasting impact of Dennis M. McInerney, to whom this volume is dedicated. It highlights his significant scholarly contributions and features tributes from colleagues and friends whose lives were profoundly influenced by him. Some of the verbatim reflections presented in this chapter build on responses originally sent to the AERA 2022 SSRL Times Magazine (Whitehead et al., 2022) and a tribute written by Bembenutty et al. (2022) published in Educational Psychology Review (2022). We acknowledge these sources at the outset of the chapter and include a formal reference to ensure that proper credit is given to the contributing authors and their institutions.
