ABSTRACT

Hybrid metal halide glasses are attractive for next‐generation scintillators but typically suffer from limited size, poor stability, and unsustainable processing. Here, we report a large‐area Sb: ETP 2 MnCl 4 glass scintillator that combines high optical transparency (>92%), light yield of 19,301 photons·MeV 1 , detection limit of 82.3 nGy air ·s 1 , and spatial resolution of 30.1 lp·mm 1 . Structural analyses reveal that Sb: ETP 2 MnCl 4 crystal can be melt‐quenched into amorphous glass while retaining organic cations and [MnCl 4 ] 2 tetrahedra, thus preserving photophysical properties. Notably, Sb 3+ introduces strong ultraviolet absorption and dual radiative channels, where self‐trapped exciton emission and efficient Sb 3+ →Mn 2+ energy transfer synergistically enhance PLQY to 90.4%. Under X‐ray excitation, the glass exhibits stable Mn 2+ ‐dominated radioluminescence, outperforming Bi 4 Ge 3 O 12 . The 12.9‐inch glass screens enable micro‐scale static imaging and high‐speed angiography on a smartphone platform. Combined with low‐temperature reshaping and reversible crystal‐glass cycling, Sb: ETP 2 MnCl 4 emerges as a scalable, sustainable scintillator for eco‐friendly radiation detection and portable medical imaging.
