Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of complex Korean medicine treatment, including Hominis placenta pharmacopuncture and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), on middle qi sinking syndrome following a traffic accident. Methods: An outpatient presenting with middle qi sinking syndrome after a traffic accident was treated with complex Korean medicine therapy and EMDR. Treatment efficacy was assessed by measuring pain intensity using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). Middle qi sinking syndrome was evaluated using the Instrument of Diagnosis and Assessment for Spleen Qi Deficiency Pattern. The patient’s anxiety level was assessed using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS).Results: The NRS score, the score on the Instrument of Diagnosis and Assessment for Spleen Qi Deficiency Pattern, and the HARS score improved following treatment. Conclusions: Complex Korean medicine treatment, including Hominis placenta pharmacopuncture and EMDR, may serve as an effective approach for middle qi sinking syndrome following a traffic accident.
