Transitioning Between Academia and Industry

Career changes are not easy decisions to undertake and may arise from either the emotional or rational mind. An emotional need for a life change may be because of circumstance, opportunity, or some other reason. A rational change may come after analysis of the markets, opportunities, or similar. This chapter highlights the similarities and differences between academia and industry, with both data/statistics and personal anecdotes for why the transition to industry was the right path forward.
