Trace-level ruthenium incorporated with transition metal components enabled the development of high-efficiency Li–CO 2 batteries

A trace multi-metallic (Ru, Ni, Cu, Zn, and Cd) catalyst anchored on carbon fiber regulates Li 2 CO 3 distribution and accelerates CO 2 RR/CO 2 ER kinetics, enabling Li–CO 2 batteries with a 1.19 V voltage gap and high energy efficiency (97.2%).
