TO ASSESS THE EFFECTIVENESS OF AN AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON KNOWLEDGE REGARDING TELE MANAS HELPLINE AMONG ADOLESCENTS IN SELECTED JUNIOR COLLEGES.

Background: In this Digital era, things are just one click away. Medical facility at the door step is the greatest achievement of this digitalisation. Telemedicine is the best solution for this era. Due to the stigma and unavailability of infrastructure and man power, People not visit the mental health facility .Tele MANAS Helpline is the best option for those people. Through Tele MANAS Helpline, people take help for their problems regarding mental health. Awareness programme is thought to be more effective because this Helpline is new and may people take advantages of this helpline regarding their mental health problem. Objective: 1.To assess the knowledge regarding Tele MANAS Helpline among adolescents in selected junior colleges. 2. To evaluate the effectiveness of an awareness programme on knowledge regarding Tele MANAS Helpline among adolescents in selected junior colleges. 3.To nd the associate study ndings with selected demographic variable . Study Design & Methodology: The pre-experimental one group pretest posttest study was conducted only after the approval of the IEC permission to conduct study from concerned authority. Junior college students who fulll the inclusion criteria were assigned to study. Written informed consent was taken from the participants. Each participant received a code number and self-administered questionnaire. A self-administered questionnaire obtained information on sociodemographic of participants. Thereafter baseline knowledge assessed. This approach helps to maintain the integrity and validity of the study results. Thereafter, Investigator delivered lecture cum discussion programme on Tele MANAS Helpline for the participants on the same day. After seven days post-test for knowledge assessment was conducted. A pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design was conducted on 80 Junior college students selected by Non-probability convenience sampling technique. The pre-test and post-test knowledge regarding Tele MANAS Helpline assessed by using self-structured questionnaire (30 questions) data were collected. Data analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics to describe to show the association between knowledge & demographic data. Expected Results: There will be signicant improvement in knowledge score in group after administration of lecture cum discussion. Limitation: Only junior college students are included in this study. Conclusion: The result of the study revealed that the knowledge score of pre- tests was less which was signicantly improved in post –test scores. Based on the statistical ndings, it is evident that provision of such kind of lecture –cum –discussion training helped the junior college students to acquire knowledge regarding Tele MANAS Helpline. Therefore, lecture –cum –discussion is very important to gain knowledge regarding Tele MANAS Helpline.
