Thoracobifemoral bypass surgery with replacement of visceral arteries in a patient with nonspecific aortoarteritis
D.A. Korshunov, S.A. Mikhailova, V.A. Kulbak, A.V. ChupinThe authors present a rare case of severe symptomatic involvement of multiple vessels in a young female patient with nonspecific aortoarteritis (Takayasu’s disease). She underwent thoracobifemoral bypass grafting, replacement of superior mesenteric artery and both renal arteries, as well as left-sided carotid artery replacement with reconstruction of external and internal carotid arteries. Surgical procedure, early and late postoperative periods are described. Furthermore, current approaches to diagnosis and treatment of nonspecific aortoarteritis are discussed. The authors analyze potential complications of open and endovascular correction of steno-occlusive lesions associated with Takayasu’s disease.
