THEORETICAL AND LEGAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE CONCEPT OF CRIMINAL PROTECTION OF BIOLOGICAL SAFETY

The article examines the theoretical and legal foundations of the formation of the concept of criminal law protection of biological security as one of the promising areas of development of modern criminal law. The system of crimes related to biological threats is studied, and the features of the current criminal law regulation, its terminological heterogeneity, and fragmentation are identified. The article concludes that an independent functional block of criminal law norms aimed at preventing and suppressing the most dangerous encroachments on biological security is being formed.
