The Role of Severity Scoring Systems in Emergency Medicine: Clinical Relevance and Practical Considerations

Efe Kanter
This letter to the editor discusses the critical role of prognostic scoring systems in emergency medicine, emphasizing their value in rapid risk stratification. Using the recent article by Demir et al. as a starting point, we reflect on the clinical performance and practical implications of qCSI and CGCIRS. While developed in the context of COVID-19, these tools offer broader relevance across acute care settings. We commend the authors’ contribution and advocate for further research into the real-world integration of such scoring systems.
