The Rise of the Autonomous Parking System

Ch Sekhar, Jashni M

This study focuses on building a smart automatic parking system that works without any human help. In big cities, it is hard to find a parking spot because of the growing number of vehicles and limited space. The old parking methods are slow and waste a lot of time and space. This survey shows a smart way using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to solve this problem. This smart parking method is helpful for smart cities where technology is used to improve daily life. The sensors help in checking the presence of vehicles, and cameras help in monitoring the entire parking area. The system uses Arduino, Raspberry Pi, sensors, and cameras to check which parking spots are free or full. It also uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to read vehicle number plates. The system can also guide the vehicle to the nearest available spot, making the parking process quick and easy. All this information is processed by AI and shown on mobile apps or display boards in real time, so drivers can easily find a free parking spot without anyone managing it manually. This system reduces traffic, saves fuel, and lowers pollution because drivers don’t need to search for parking. It is fully automatic, works with less cost, and can be used in many places like malls, offices, or public areas. This study proves that automatic parking systems can save time, reduce stress, and make better use of space. It is a smart and modern solution for today’s parking problems.
