The Quest for Healing on Ecological Routes
Hande Akyurt KurnazWhen sustainable and eco-health tourism are combined, we have a perfect synergy. The concept of sustainability is an advance against unsystematic behavior in the use of resources. The world’s available resources are not limitless and infinite. But human beings think that the earth’s resources are infinite. The result of this situation is an unconscious consumption process. Sustainable living is a way of protecting and respecting nature. The fact that city life is becoming increasingly gray and busy increases people’s longing for nature. For this reason, there is an increase in tourism types that both protect nature and are good for the physical and mental health of the individual. Health-based activities in natural areas increase the well-being of the individual and contribute to the protection of nature, providing a sustainable system. Eco-health tourism addresses the health of individuals in a holistic way through activities such as forest therapy, natural spas, hiking routes, aromatherapy, silence retreats, and mindfulness practices.
