The problem of self-awareness in the works of V. S. Merlin and I. I. Chesnokova, and its development at the present stage

An important independent area of this work is the development of professional self-awareness among those engaged in professional activities. During the formative years of psychological science, prominent 20th-century scholars, including V. S. Merlin and I. I. Chesnokova, addressed the issue of self-awareness. In the process of developing the concept of professional self-awareness, the methodological problem of psychology - self-awareness, the history of the issue were studied, the structure, functions, conditions of formation, the development paths of self-awareness and professional self-awareness proposed by the authors, the dynamics of the conscious and unconscious in the subject's attitude to himself, unique materials on the problem under study in the research of Russian scientists V. S. Merlin and I. I. Chesnokova, and their followers were analyzed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the views of V. S. Merlin and I. I. Chesnokova on the problem of self-awareness and to present new ideas, proposals, conditions for its development, and areas of work. The subject of the study is self-awareness. The analyzed works of these scientists contributed to the analysis and description of new ideas, technologies, and conditions for the development of self-awareness, as well as to the proposals for future work.
