The Nexus Between Artificial Intelligence and Workforce Optimization: A Systematic Review of Employee Well-being, Job Satisfaction and Productivity

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a buzzword that is ruling the world of businesses in recent days. It is redefining management practices by enhancing organizational outcomes, employee experiences, and reshaping the workplace. The present study explores the integration of AI with Employee Well-being (EW), Employee Productivity (EP), and Job Satisfaction (JS), which are the notable dimensions of an employee for establishing a healthy work environment and driving organizational success, which remain underexplored. A structured review of the existing literature is conducted by analyzing a total of 213 documents that are extracted from the Scopus data base covering the year from 2015 to 2025. Each section of the study offers a thorough analysis of the opportunities such as creating new job roles, upskilling, and fostering innovation, by portraying challenges such as insecure of job, and resistance to technological change and the key observations encountered by employees and organizations as they navigate technological advancements and adapt to evolving workplace dynamics. Our study findings reveal significant insights framed through keyword analyses, illustrating the intricate linkages between AI and employee dimensions and the necessity of adopting human-centered strategies, such as building a well-structured organizational culture and developing strong technological leadership. This study highlights avenues for improving key employee dimensions (EW, EP, JS), while stressing the need for a balanced integration of technology for a productive and harmonious workplace. Our study suggests that future research should explore technologically integrated industries, digitally enabled workforces to adapt automotive workspaces while upholding ethical practices, ultimately contributing to build a sustainable tech-centric world.
