Objective: This study examined the mediating role of psychological resilience in the relationship between psychological first-aid self-efficacy (PFASE) and problem-solving skills in nursing students.Method: This study was conducted with 245 nursing students enrolled in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Iğdır University during the 2024-2025 academic year. Data were collected using the Personal Information Form, Psychological First Aid Application Self-Efficacy Scale (PFASE), Brief Psychological Resilience Scale (BPRS), and Problem-Solving Inventory (PSI). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (number, percentage, mean, and standard deviation), Pearson’s correlation analysis, and AMOS v.23.Results: As nursing students’ PIUÖY scores increased, their problem-solving skills also improved. Furthermore, as psychological resilience increased, both PIUÖY and problem-solving skills increased. However, the indirect effect of problem-solving on PIY through psychological resilience was not significant. Attitudes toward age discrimination were found to be more closely related to sociodemographic variables such as gender, academic achievement, previous stressful life events, receiving psychological support, and being a good problem solver. Conclusion: An increase in nursing students' PIUOY levels was significantly associated with enhanced problem-solving skills and psychological resilience.
