The Lived Experience as a Professional Possibility
Maria ImpedovoAbstract
Drawing on qualitative teacher narrative accounts and journaling as a self-explorative technique, this chapter examines how everyday interactions – including materiality like with textbooks, lesson preparations, and classroom resources – constitute events through which teachers co-construct meaning related to their professional development. The chapter highlights how including attention to materiality fosters professional events that are responsive, relational, and open to emergent possibilities. Implications for pedagogies are discussed.
