The importance of prospective drug‐induced liver injury registries

Abstract

Drug‐induced liver injury (DILI) is an uncommon cause of acute liver injury, and there are only a few prospective registries assessing the clinical features and outcomes of DILI worldwide. Bjornsson et al. establish a European DILI registry and report on the experience seen in a number of European countries. We have established an Australian DILI registry, but we call upon the importance of reporting potential outcomes from pharmacotherapy to determine the role of medical therapy for DILI as this is lacking in the literature.
