THE IMPACT OF VOLUNTEERING ON PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Ekaterina Ishkova, Svetlana Shmeleva, Angela Romanova, Svetlana ArtemyevaThe volunteer movement is an important component of our reality today. Volunteers actively participate in various spheres of public life in the country. It is expected that by 2030, their number in the Russian Federation will exceed 20 million. Our analysis focused on the value-semantic and perceptual-evaluative components, as well as the psychological determinants of an individual's orientation toward volunteerism, which influence the development and formation of certain personality traits. Our study involved 62 volunteers: 42 women and 20 men aged 18-24 (both students and employed), who had actively participated in various events and projects for 1-3 years, as well as expert psychologists. The psychological determinants of an individual's orientation toward volunteerism, which determines young people's participation in the volunteer movement, are the characteristics of the participants' personal development.
