The Historical Experience of Values’ Design
in Russia

A. Polosin

The paper examines three distinct historical episodes involving the introduction of ideological doctrines and public values in Russia. It evaluates these processes through the lens of modern concepts of social architecture and value-based design—defined here, in line with the author’s perspective, as specific actions or projects aimed at articulating, promoting, and harmonizing values for the purposes of identity politics. The author assesses the strengths and weaknesses of each project and synthesizes lessons regarding their effectiveness and outcomes, aiming to apply these insights
to the contemporary management of social processes.
