The genome sequence of the cranefly, Tipula scripta Meigen, 1830 (Diptera: Tipulidae)

James McCulloch, Duncan Sivell, , , , , , ,
We present a genome assembly from an individual Tipula scripta (cranefly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Tipulidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 612.05 megabases and 599.16 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (95.77%) is scaffolded into 4 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Most of haplotype 2 (96.97%) is scaffolded into 4 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 17.09 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 11 356 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
