Markus Ruhsam, Peter M. Hollingsworth, , , , , , , ,
We present a genome assembly of Eriophorum vaginatum (Hare’s-tail Cottongrass; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Poales; Cyperaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 398.68 megabases and 384.02 megabases. The haplotype 1 assembly and the haplotype 2 assembly each contain 29 chromosomal pseudomolecules; these account for 93.98% and 95.9% of their respective sequences. The mitochondrial genome assembly has a length of 1852.19 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 214.46 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
