The gastroesophageal reflux disease and its impact on adherence to gastroesophageal reflux treatment in patients with migraines and its effect on migraine attack frequency

Aim: To determine the incidence of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in migraine patients and investigate the impact of adherence to gastroesophageal reflux treatment on migraine attack frequency. Method: The study was completed with a total of 757 individuals who applied to the Headache Clinic and Family Health Centers and met the inclusion criteria. They completed the Migraine Diagnosis Questionnaire, which includes the criteria of the International Headache Society (IHS) for migraine, the GERDQ (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Questionnaire), and the Modified Morisky Scale for medication adherence.
