This study aimed to determine the effects of foliar applications of boron (B) and zinc (Zn) at different periods on yield and quality parameters, and physiological characteristics of the 8-year-old "Chandler" walnut cultivar grown in Karahasan/Uşak. Two foliar fertilizers were applied either individually or in combination. The nutrients were sprayed on the trees either during the defoliation period in autumn, after flowering in springor in both periods The experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replicates, each consisting of three trees, and ZnSO₄ and B were applied at concentrations of 0.2% and 0.1%, respectively. As a result of the research, the highest nut weight (11.20 g) was obtained from Zn applications in both periods. In addition, the highest kernel weight (4.44 g) and kernel ratio (41.39%) were detected in the B application during spring. Conversely, the lowest values were recorded when the same nutrient was applied in bothperiods. The highest values for kernel weight (4.35 g), kernel ratio (40.16%), and yield (25.68 kg tree⁻¹) were achieved with spring applications. Notably, the internal shrinkage rate (10%) decreased, particularly in response to B applications. The most favorable results for nut width, length, and height were stated from B + Zn applications applied exclusively during the autumn period. For optimal yield and fruit quality, applications are recommended to be carried out exclusively in the spring.
