The Cu_B site in particulate methane monooxygenase may be used to produce hydrogen peroxide

We have studied possible reactions of the Cu_B site in pMMO with QM/MM methods, comparing it to the active site in LPMO. It seems to be poised more to the formation of H₂O₂ than the oxidation of CH₄.
