Abstract

Current health education typically prizes and prioritises a biomedical sensibility in clinical practice, often to the detriment of the patient experience. In exploring the impact of the clinical gaze on patient experiences of medical care, this article argues for integrating interpersonal and technical skills in modern medicine, emphasising the value of holistic and compassionate care.
