We present a genome assembly from a specimen of Thysanoteuthis major (diamond squid; Mollusca; Cephalopoda; Oegopsida; Thysanoteuthidae). The primary assembly has a total length of 2,735.86 megabases. Most of the primary assembly (98.92%) is scaffolded into 46 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 20.54 kilobases.
