Teaching in Kindergarten: Lived Experiences in the New Normal Education

This study aimed to determine the lived experiences of kindergarten teachers in the new normal education. The participants of the study were limited only to the six (6) Kindergarten teachers of District V, schools Division office of Kabankalan City during the academic year 2020-2021. This study employed purposive sampling in identifying the participants based on qualifying criteria. Researcher utilized the individual written narrative story form containing the questions as to the participants’ experiences in the new normal. Moreover, the researcher found out that there were major themes raised as to the experiences of kindergarten teachers in the new normal education such as preparation of learning materials is difficult, following safety protocols in the distribution of modules, gadget is important in coordination with the parents and retrieval of modules are delayed. Based on the data gathered the researcher concluded that teaching in kindergarten: lived experiences in the new normal education was such a challenging journey. It was challenging because of the encountered difficulties and struggles of the kindergarten teachers. They had to make an adjustment in order to adapt and embrace the new normal system of education while in the midst of pandemic. While facing the new normal, kindergarten teacher was said to be a hero, a strong hero who, whatever hindrances, challenges and difficulties encountered were able to conquer it.
