ABSTRACT

Enhancing the electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding performance of high‐performance thermoplastics is critical for aerospace, defense, and next‐generation electronics. In this work, a novel hybrid PEEK composite was developed by co‐incorporating nitrogen‐doped reduced graphene oxide (N‐rGO) and aluminum (Al) particles using polyetherimide (PEI) as a dispersion‐enhancing and interfacial coupling agent. The use of PEI enabled homogeneous distribution of both conductive and metallic fillers within the PEEK matrix while preserving melt‐processability and mechanical integrity. This synergistic filler architecture promotes multi‐mechanism EMI shielding through electrical conduction, interfacial polarization, dipolar relaxation, and multiple internal reflections. The results highlight the potential of this lightweight, cost‐effective, and processable composite for advanced EMI shielding applications, addressing a critical gap in current polymer‐based shielding materials.
