Tailoring mechanical properties of germanium anodes via metal incorporation for improved cycle stability

The effects of metal addition to Ge anodes are systematically investigated. Only a few atomic percent of large-radius elements such as Yb dramatically improve performance, highlighting anode hardness as a previously overlooked design parameter.
