The development of practical synthetic strategies for cyanamides remains a significant challenge. Here, we report a metal-free, fluoride-promoted hydrocyanamidation between readily accessible N-cyano-N-aryl-p-methylbenzenesulfonamide (NCTS) and activated alkenes or alkynes. This method features operational simplicity, a broad substrate scope, excellent functional group tolerance, and mild reaction conditions, offering a versatile approach to diverse disubstituted cyanamides. Furthermore, the practicality of this present method was evidenced by gram-scale synthesis and late-stage functionalization of the product.
