A family of [1,2,4]triazolo[1,5- a ]pyrimidines was synthesized, and their substituent-dependent photophysics showed that dyes with an NMe ₂ group exhibited exceptional behavior ( ϕ _F = 98% in THF at 450 nm), even showing hydrochromism and acidochromism.
