Two copper(II) complexes were synthesized using the ligand N'‐(2‐oxoindolin‐3‐ylidene)benzohydrazide (L) with phosphine ligands, triphenylphosphine (PPh 3 ) and bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm). Characterization included elemental analysis, molar conductivity, FTIR, NMR ( 1 H, 1 3 C, 3 1 P), EDX, and TGA. The complexes exhibited tetrahedral geometry, with ligand (L) coordinating via nitrogen and sulfur. Their structural formulas are [Cu(L)(PPh 3 )Cl]Cl and [Cu 2 (L) 2 (dppm)]Cl 4 , with dppm as a bridging ligand. XRD analysis revealed crystallinity of 4.69–32.35% and crystal sizes of 1.20–15.89 nm. SEM confirmed nanoparticles measuring 63.49–95.23 nm, consistent with XRD results. Biological tests indicated that these complexes inhibited Staphylococcus aureus but had no effect on Escherichia coli.
