The current research addresses an effective development of [ 99m Tc]‐tricarbonyl‐N‐2‐(furylmethyl)iminodiacetic acid for renal imaging. This has been performed through using a [ 99m Tc]‐tricarbonyl core to conventionally label a ligand of N‐2‐(furylmethyl iminodiacetic acid) (FM‐IDA). The organometallic fac‐[ 99m Tc]‐tricarbonyl core adopts a low‐spin d 6 6‐coordinate octahedral geometry, offering exceptional chemical kinetic inertness and resistance to metabolic degradation compared to conventional Tc(V)‐oxo systems. In order to optimize the high radiochemical yield (98.5%), a number of factors were utilized to successfully complete the assignment. Thin‐layer chromatography, paper electrophoresis, and high‐performance liquid chromatography were used to calculate the radiochemical conversion. The compound was eliminated from the kidney and bladder tract one hour after injection, according to biodistribution research. Along with biodistribution results, the kidneys have a high renal absorption of 8.75% ± 0.19% ID/organ at 5 min after injection for the [ 99m Tc]‐tricarbonyl‐FM‐IDA radiotracer. As a result, [ 99m Tc]‐tricarbonyl‐N‐2‐(furylmethyl iminodiacetic acid) may be employed as a radiotracer for renal function.
