Switching ammonia oxidation pathways with Cu–Ag nanostructures: from selective overoxidation to N–N coupling for energy-efficient hydrogen production

Ag–Cu catalyst design enables precise control over the ammonia electrooxidation selectivity. Cu-rich and Ag-rich nanoparticles achieve up to 96% FE for NO x and 84% FE for N 2 , respectively, surpassing conventional Ni-based systems.
