Switchable production of methyl acetate and ethanol from dimethyl oxalate with high selectivity via spatial arrangement of Mo/SiO ₂ and CuZnAl

 A Mo/SiO ₂ catalyst enriched with metallic Mo ⁰ sites enables highly selective DMO hydrogenation to methyl acetate. A dual-catalyst strategy further promotes ethanol synthesis under mild conditions.
