Sustaining Existence, or Staying in the Process of Being Alive, Requires Local Environments that Region
Pasi HeikkurinenAbstract
Chapter 15 concludes that sustainability necessitates a local focus not limited to a single locale but one that travels, as well as finding a home, across locales. This is also where and when scales and sectors vitally transact to shape and decide on the best practices. Sustaining existence is the task for us. Continuing in the process of being alive can be done by embedding ourselves translocally in regions and reconnoitring poetic modes of dwelling. Now, in the late 2020s, the importance of the region has been highlighted in the opportunity it offers us to live sustainably. This chapter encourages us to encounter ourselves and each other in the process.
