ABSTRACT

Lipomas of the oropharynx are rare, accounting for less than 5% of benign oropharyngeal neoplasms. Most remain asymptomatic until they grow large enough to cause obstructive symptoms. Oropharyngeal angiolipomas are extremely rare and can present with life‐altering symptoms such as dysphagia. Prompt diagnosis and complete surgical excision yield acceptable outcomes. We report the case of a 59‐year‐old male presenting with a one‐year history of progressive dysphagia and significant weight loss. Endoscopic evaluation and imaging revealed a pedunculated mass originating from the oropharynx. The lesion was successfully excised via a transoral approach following preoperative tracheostomy. Histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of an angiolipoma. Postoperatively, the patient experienced complete resolution of dysphagia and regained weight during follow‐up visits.
