Surendra K. Yadav, Ankur Srivastava, Jay Singh

Supercapacitors, renowned for their swift charging and discharging times, extended cycling life, high power density, and environmental friendliness, have emerged as a prime power source. They are extensively used in uninterruptible power systems, digital devices, and electric vehicles. Incorporating biowaste into this innovative economic model presents a promising opportunity to enhance the production of sustainable bioproducts and bioenergy. This highlights the importance of research aimed at improving biowaste conversion processes and understanding the broader societal impacts of the bioeconomy. Additionally, this chapter explores recent advancements in the circular economy, emphasizing the role of biowaste as a valuable resource in supercapacitor production. It also addresses emerging biowaste biorefinery techniques, which could be applied to evaluate sustainable, industrial-scale financial models for next-generation bioproducts and related challenges.
