Substantiation of criterion validity of the diagnostic technique for attitude to school subjects in primary school students
M. AbramovaThe study of a pupil's individuality requires teachers to master scientifically based diagnostic methods. The article substantiates the criterion validity of L. N. Balabkina's "Attitude to School Subjects" technique and concludes that it is suitable for diagnosing attitudes towards school subjects in the learning activities of junior schoolchildren. The calculation of the Spearman rank correlation coefficient on a sample of 50 primary school students (aged 9–11) showed a high degree of agreement (k = 0,911, p < 0,00001) between the test results and the teachers' expert assessment, which confirms the criterion validity of the tool and allows introducing a 5-level interpretation scale for educational practitioners.
