In order to further optimize the compatibility of insulation structures of winter hiking jacket, selecting two 3-in-1 hiking jackets equipped with Down liner and Fleece liner, using thermal manikin system and infrared thermal imager, and relying on climate chamber to simulate the typical winter climate conditions in East China, the effects of the two liner materials on the warmth retention of the hiking jacket were systematically studied. The results showed that the insulation performance of the commonly used Down liner with a filling volume of 62 g/m 2 in the 3-in-1 hiking jacket (175/92A) measured by infrared thermography method is superior to that of Fleece liner with a material weight of 280 g/m 2 . The Clo Value of the Down liner measured using thermal manikin method is 1.34 Clo, while that of Fleece liner is 1.18 Clo. Under low-temperature and high-wind-speed conditions, the 3-in-1 hiking jacket with Down liner is able to maintain a higher base layer surface temperature (27.3 °C-31.8 °C) than the 3-in-1 hiking jacket with Fleece liner. At 10 °C, the heat insulation performance of the 3-in-1 hiking jacket with Fleece liner is less affected by wind speed and is slightly better than that of 3-in-1 hiking jacket with Down liner. However, at 0 °C, the surface temperature of the base layer of the 3-in-1 hiking jacket with Down liner was 2.3 °C to 3.5 °C higher than that of 3-in-1 hiking jacket with Fleece liner.
