STUDY OF FLOW FEATURES OF ABRASIVE PARTICLES DURING POLYMER COATING FORMATION TO ENSURE THE STABILITY OF UNDERWATER HYDROABRASIVE CUTTING

The paper presents the results of a study of flow features of abrasive particles in a fluidized bed during the formation of a polymer coating in the encapsulator to ensure the stability of underwater hydroabrasive cutting. It is proposed to reduce the wear of the nozzle and components of pipeline systems of the equipment for underwater hydroabrasive cutting by coating the abrasive with a polymer compound protector. In this regard, this paper is devoted to the development of methods aimed at reducing the bonding of abrasive particles while applying polymer coating. The aim is achieved by creating optimal conditions for the abrasive flow inside the coating chamber, which operates on the principle of a fluidized bed. The first part of the paper explores the potential for forming liquid bridges between abrasive particles in the presence of liquid polymer solution. The second part of the paper defines the conditions for effective placement of the abrasive in the air flow of the fluidization chamber, which minimizes the likelihood of their collisions.
