Study of asymmetry of anthropometric indicators in first-year students of creative specialties
Leonid Onuchin, Vladimir Stepanov, Roman Apoiko, Yuliya ArhipovaThe purpose of the study is to determine the level of asymmetry in the physical development of the muscles of the upper and lower limbs and chest excursion in first-year students of the St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television (SPbGIKiT) in order to improve the structure of practical training for students of the specialties "Acting Art" and "Producing." Research methods: analysis of literature on the topic of the work, anthropometric measurements, methods of mathematical statistics, and analysis and synthesis of the obtained results were applied. Research results and conclusions. As a result of the conducted study of a complex of anthropometric indicators in first-year students (males and females) of SPbGIKiT of the specialties "Acting Art" and "Producing" (females and males), anthropometric data were determined: girths of the wrists, shoulders, hips, shins, and chest on inhalation and exhalation. The conducted study made it possible to describe the phenomenon of laterality in students of the creative specialties "Acting Art" and "Producing," to identify certain patterns, some of which are consistent with known statistics (a decrease in the dependence of hand laterality on the laterality of other body parts), while others are not consistent (the overall percentage of left-handed students in creative specialties is higher than the statistical average). Methodological recommendations were developed for organizing work with students of these specialties, taking into account individual characteristics.
